2026 Graduate Programme - Earth & Environment - Ground & Water
We are recruiting Graduates for our Ground & Water teams in Contaminated Land and Demolition & Decommissioning across multiple UK locations. The programme offers a two-year development path with a blend of on-the-job experience and training.
Overview
Our environmental Ground & Water specialists support clients in assessment and investigation of Brownfield land, development proposals and commercial decisions. The team is also involved in the demolition and decommissioning of non-operational power stations and managing smaller redundant plants within active process areas. We seek Graduates who are flexible, eager to learn, and ready to work in a collaborative, diverse environment for a broad range of clients and projects.
Responsibilities
* Ground & Water projects in Contaminated Land and Demolition & Decommissioning; support delivery of site investigations, assessments, remediation and related activities.
* Contribute to desk studies, site investigations, reporting, and client liaison under supervision.
* Assist with field work, data collection, data management and environmental site monitoring.
* Support feasibility studies and project delivery, including health and safety practices and adherence to technical standards.
* Collaborate with project managers and directors, with potential periods on site and travel across the UK or internationally as required.
* Engage in the progression toward factual and interpretative reporting and project management responsibilities with time and experience.
Projects and Teams
* Contaminated Land: geo-environmental, contaminated land and hydrogeology work; day-to-day activities include Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 site investigation design and supervision, health risk assessment, and client liaison.
* Demolition and Decommissioning: site-based role supporting decommissioning, demolition and remediation projects with significant site work and travel; potential progression toward supervision and management roles.
Graduate Development and Progression
The two-year Graduate Development Programme provides core business and professional skills training, career development workshops, mentoring for professional registration, and on-the-job experience. We encourage chartered status with professional bodies and ongoing development.
What Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
* Ability to start work in April or September 2026.
* UK driving licence or equivalent.
* Ability to stay calm under pressure, learn quickly, and demonstrate attention to detail.
* Ability to work to defined budgets and timescales, build relationships, and communicate effectively.
* Enthusiasm for creativity and problem solving; willingness to travel within the UK, including overnight stays.
