Position
Fairfield Park Health Centre are looking to welcome a 4 session Salaried GP to join our excellent team, working all day Wednesday and Friday.
Job Responsibilities
The post holder will manage a patient caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring a high standard of care for all our patients. In accordance with our practice rota (as agreed), the post holder will undertake a variety of duties, including face‑to‑face and telephone consultations, same‑day walk‑in and wait appointments, checking/signing repeat prescriptions and pro‑rata duty doctor responsibility.
Our surgeries are a combination of routine pre‑booked or same‑day appointments and the format is a combination of telephone and face‑to‑face contacts.
We have a low home‑visiting rate as we have excellent support from our PCN Paramedic, and you will have opportunity for peer support at our regular clinical and non‑clinical lunch‑time meetings.
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referral or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
* Providing counselling and health education.
* Referring patients to other care providers as appropriate.
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Collecting data for audit purposes.
* Compiling and issuing computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible).
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
* Assist with the supervision of registrars.
* In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within UK primary care.

Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP, eligible to practice in the UK with GMC registration & on the Medical Performers List.
* Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.
Experience
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to prioritise work and work under pressure.
* Organised/efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork.
* Clinical Governance.
* Delivery of QoF targets and other practice objectives/targets.
* Experience of TPP SystmOne.
* Experience of Accurx.

* Experience or willingness to support GP Registrars in their daily surgeries.
