Job overview
The successful candidate will work alongside the Modality lead to provide a safe and efficient Nuclear Medicine (NM) service. You will be expected to work/ train to cover CT, MRI, Cath Lab and Plain Film as required by the service and dependent on experience.
Candidates should have significant NM experience with a post graduate qualification in NM.
The successful candidate will be expected to train new staff, implement service change and maintain image quality, while being an expert point of contact for junior staff.
Main duties of the job
- Work alongside the Modality Lead for the NM Service.
- Vet and accept specialist and general imaging requests.
- Perform complex scans and injections to a very high level.
- Intravenous injection of contrast media by hand and/or by injector.
- Programming of scanner sequences/protocols for use of other staff.
- Advanced knowledge of NM protocols to be able to perform the most appropriate sequences given the department protocols and clinical information provided.
- Full participation and trainer of equipment QA.
- Cannula insertion trainer and competency assessment.
- Interpretation of NM images to a level where the post-holder is able to discuss further imaging sequences with a Consultant Radiologist to improve the diagnostic out-come for the patient.

11. Degree or equivalent in Radiography
12. HCPC Registration
13. PgC in NM
14. Evidence of CPD
15. Certificate in IV Injections
16. Management experience
17. Short courses in NM

EXPERIENCE

19. 5 years experience in radiography including out of hours work
20. 3 years NM experience
21. CT/MRI experience to participate in out of hours service.
