1. Key Responsibilities for Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer:
* Oversee, manage and optimise VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions
* Implement, support and manage network and security technologies
* Diagnose and resolve complex network and virtualisation issues
* Interact with vendors for support escalations
* Continuously monitor network and infrastructure performance
* Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all configurations and procedures
Skills and experience for Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer:
Essential:
* Proficiency in managing and optimising VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions.
* Experience with managing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
* Extensive knowledge in configuring and managing firewalls, routers and switches.
* Advanced knowledge and understanding of networking, including TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, VLANs, dynamic routing protocols, port aggregation, load balancing, VPNs and wireless technologies.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architectures
* Knowledge if Cisco ACL, Firepower, ISE, Unified Computing Systems (UCS)
* Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls
* Knowledge of Veeam and Zerto data resiliency platforms
* Understanding of ITIL practices
Desirable Certifications:
* Cisco CCNA
* VMWare VCP
* Cisco Unified Computing System (DCCUCS)
* Microsoft Certifications such as: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Security Operations Analyst Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate
