Consultant in Haematology (Haemoglobinopathy and General Haematology), Manchester
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Haematology to join the Clinical Haematology Department at Manchester Royal Infirmary. The department is part of the Clinical Service Unit of In-Patient Medical Specialities. The successful candidate will provide specialist care, including on-call duties for Haemoglobinopathy (1:4).
This is a 10 PA position. Candidates unable to work full-time due to personal reasons may be considered, with job modifications discussed individually.
Requirements:
* GMC registration or eligibility within six months of interview
* UK-trained candidates must have CCT or be within six months of award
* Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MD, PhD)
* Specialist interest in haemoglobinopathy and general haematology
* Research experience and publications in recognised journals
* Ability to organise and lead clinical practice
* Management training
* Full registration with GMC and Licence to Practice
Main duties include:
* Conducting outpatient clinics in haemoglobinopathy and general haematology
* Participating in ward duties (1 in 4 rota)
* Laboratory responsibilities aligned with clinical interests
* Teaching medical students and postgraduate trainees
* Providing cover during leave and sickness on a rotational basis
