Overview

Title: Chemical Graduate Engineer

Salary range: £33,000 per annum plus £2,000 Joining Bonus

Location: Bristol, Burton and Leatherhead

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

Given the multidisciplinary and collaborative nature of our work you will be supporting not just your immediate teams, but also in a range of other fields – whether it\'s engineering, digital or human sciences.


The Role

This is a Chemical Graduate Engineer role within our Engineering stream at Frazer-Nash. As a graduate you could be joining one of the following discipline areas:

* Fluids and Thermal Engineering
* Process Engineering and Safety
* Nuclear Engineering and Technology
* Design and Concept Engineering

These areas support our Defence, Energy and Transport & Industry client sectors and are geographically based across our range of UK offices.

Within these areas you will be involved in delivering a diverse range of projects to our clients from component level to system level, throughout all aspects of the project lifecycle (from R&D to decommissioning) and in conjunction with other technical disciplines.

Your projects could include:

* Design of process equipment for packaging and storage of nuclear waste;
* Ensuring the safety of novel and experimental devices to produce hydrogen;
* Assessing the environmental dispersion of chemicals or radionuclides in an accident scenario;
* Assessing the integrity of nuclear power station equipment for extended life;
* Prediction of cooling flow effectiveness in an aerospace jet engine;

The successful individuals will receive training, mentoring and coaching to support their development into becoming well-rounded consultants and will be supported to achieve professional accreditations including chartership with one of our five partnered institutions (IMechE, RAeS, IET, RINA & IoP).


What we are looking for

We are looking for ambitious, intelligent, organised and inquisitive individuals who can solve challenging problems. You will need to have:

* A 2:1 Degree or higher (or equivalent/experience) with a related Engineering or relevant physical sciences bias.
* Pre-employment screening and ability to satisfy UK National Security Vetting criteria.
