Role Overview Consultant Rheumatologist to join an established Rheumatology service based at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro. The unit is located in a modern dedicated facility at Truro Health Park, equipped with consultant offices, outpatient suites, and a lecture facility.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and day‑to‑day management of the Rheumatology department.
Deliver comprehensive rheumatology services across Cornwall, including peripheral outpatient clinics and specialist follow‑up clinics.
Administer biologic therapies within the Medical Day Unit and West Cornwall Penlee Unit.
Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals.
Support the Rheumatology research programme and contribute to research projects.
Ensure participation in continuing medical education (CME) and maintain high clinical standards.
Engage in clinical governance, audit, and Trust‑wide quality improvement initiatives.
Attend departmental and Trust‑wide meetings as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified Consultant Rheumatologist with full registration.
Extensive clinical experience in rheumatology, including biologic therapy and outpatient services.
Proven ability to teach and train juniors and students.
Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
