The Company:
Our client is based in Milton Keynes, with a well-established 14-acre site. UK customers benefit from quicker delivery and customised product options, as many products are warehoused or assembled by hand in the Milton Keynes facility.
The Role:
Working at our client's Milton Keynes facility, you will champion Environmental and Sustainability improvements, ensure compliance with Environmental Legislation, and maintain the ISO14001 Environmental Management System. You will lead the Environmental Committee, support the company's Carbon Reduction journey, maintain Carbon Neutral status, and collaborate with European and Japan colleagues on SDG, ESG, CSRD, and Net Zero ambitions. You will also drive waste recycling initiatives and reduce packaging purchases.
This dynamic role involves assessing legislative changes, managing legal reporting, and responding to business needs or incidents. You will lead activities such as Energy Usage Reduction and engage with senior leadership, R&D, Production, Sales, suppliers, and contractors to promote sustainability goals and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor new legislation affecting manufacturing and ensure compliance.
2. Complete and submit environmental legal reports by deadlines.
3. Promote the use of information management systems like BSI Entropy and Solution Host.
4. Chair the Environmental Committee and ensure timely completion of actions.
5. Report the company's carbon footprint in line with SECR and develop Scope 3 reporting.
6. Ensure compliance with ESOS reporting and ISO50001 standards.
7. Lead waste management initiatives and educate staff on waste hierarchy.
8. Understand ISO Management Systems, especially ISO 14001.
9. Identify and drive environmental improvement projects.
10. Assist the Quality Manager with internal audits.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Environmental NEBOSH certificate or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience in monitoring, controlling, and reporting environmental legislation.
3. Training and experience as an Internal Auditor.
4. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
