About The Role
A well-respected specialist in structural steelwork and civil engineering is looking for a highly capable Operations Manager to lead their Civil Engineering and Structural Steelwork Division based on-site at a prominent energy facility near Chester.
This senior leadership role involves overseeing the smooth delivery of complex, high-profile projects while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships and driving operational excellence.

Salary
Up to £80,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day operations for the Civil Engineering and Structural Steelwork Division at the energy sector site.
* Plan, coordinate, and ensure successful delivery of multiple projects within time, budget, and quality targets.
* Manage, develop, and mentor site teams, ensuring full compliance with health & safety standards and company policies.
* Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers to support seamless collaboration.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the wider business development strategy.
* Monitor project progress, prepare commercial reports, and provide operational performance updates to senior management.
* Ensure effective resource planning, cost control, and budget management.
* Champion continuous improvement across all operational activities.
About You
* Proven experience managing structural steel and civil engineering projects, preferably in high-security or regulated environments.
* Strong client and stakeholder relationship management skills.
* Experience with business development and spotting commercial opportunities.
* Solid understanding of commercial reporting and operational performance metrics.
* Skilled in project planning, scheduling, and financial oversight.
* Comprehensive knowledge of health & safety regulations and industry standards.
* Exceptional leadership qualities, with a proactive, hands-on approach.
