This Learning Support Assistant role involves working as a SEN Teaching Assistant supporting learners aged 16 to 19 within a specialist setting. Based in Essex, the post focuses on inclusive education and training for young people, helping them access high-quality education and training that prepares them for adulthood, independence, and future pathways. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored support plans and contribute to education and training programmes that meet individual learner needs. The position is located in Essex and involves daily travel within Essex, with all work taking place across college sites in Essex. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting SEN learners in a positive and structured environment. Location: Essex Day-to-day responsibilities include: Supporting students aged 16-19 with special educational needs on a one-to-one and small group basis Assisting learners during lessons to help them access the curriculum and stay engaged Implementing individual learning and support plans set by teaching staff and SEN professionals Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour throughout the day Supporting students with personal, social, and emotional development Providing personal care where required; willingness to support with personal care is essential Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistent support Helping to adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs Supervising students during transitions between lessons and activities Providing clear feedback to teachers on student progress and challenges Maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
