Job Description
Our client is a UK-based private aviation business that provides a premium service to an internal client group that includes corporate business executives, VVIP and UHNWIs. The business efficiently maintains and operates a modern fleet of business jets operating across domestic and international routes. They are seeking to appoint a Director of Flight Operations (DFO), a key leadership role, supporting the Chief Operating Officer in broad operational and strategic management activities across the organisation. The DFO will:
* act as the Nominated Person for Flight Operations for the respective regulatory authority as required, managing the flight operations team.
* oversee the service and maintenance provision across the fleet.
* operate as a Line Captain alongside their ground duties with a roughly 70:30 split of flight operations and flying time.
* collaborate with key stakeholders, leading by example, with effective prioritisation and communicating across the broader organisation.
* promote the development of a positive company culture that embraces change and continually challenges itself to surpass expectations.
The successful candidate will have the drive, technical ability, and emotional intelligence to effect change at pace while also supervising a very dynamic programme of works for one of the premier private aviation operations in Europe/Globally.
Culturally, the DFO will be a deeply service-orientated person, who takes pride in delivery with a desire for continuous improvement. They will promote a collegiate working environment, strong team ethic, naturally opting to "roll their sleeves up" and "pitch in".
The successful candidate will be a qualified Pilot, with UK ATPL and a minimum of 1500 hours. Experience in flying Business Jets is ideal but not essential. Existing experience in flight operations is desirable or at least exposure to it, in part, in current or previous roles.
This is an excellent opportunity and will appeal to those aspiring to broaden their aviation career whilst retaining flying hours. Alternatively, it might be someone in a flight operations role who is looking for a fresh challenge.
