Healthcare Assistant Position: Part-Time Total Positions: 4 Role Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Female Care Assistants to adults in the community. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being of people by providing responsive care in their homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, medication support, and companionship. Key Responsibilities * Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect. * Assist with safe repositioning and use of mobility equipment (profiling beds, slide sheets). * Promote and protect the dignity, privacy, and preferences of those in care. * Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and promoting healthy nutrition. * Support with medication administration in line with care plans. * Help with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. * Offer companionship, dignity-focused support and emotional support, encouraging social interaction. * Apply skin care protocols and maintain skin integrity. * Work as a team for scheduled visits. * Support individuals with mobility needs, using appropriate equipment as required. * Monitor and report changes in clients’ conditions and comfort levels to relevant healthcare professionals. * Ensure compliance with care plans, safeguarding policies, and health & safety regulations. * Provide waking night support (as needed), staying vigilant throughout. * Support families sensitively through anticipatory grief and post-death processes (e.g., notifying DN or GP). * Accurately record observations, actions and concerns via digital or paper logs Requirements * Experience in domiciliary care, community care, supported living, mental health, learning disabilities, or behaviours that challenge is desirable. * Knowledge of anticipatory medicines and symptom observation. * A caring, patient, and empathetic nature. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * A flexible approach to work, including availability for evenings and weekends. * Enhanced DBS * A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is critical. * Manual handling training and experience with equipment Desirable: * NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards). * Experience supporting individuals with stomas, catheters or NG feeding. * Experience of working with people with fluctuating capacity and on DoLS orders
