The Role
We are seeking a versatile, all-rounder with experience and interest in Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, and Data Engineering to help design and build Convolutional Neural Networks for Smart Sensors, develop and troubleshoot firmware for automotive IoT devices, and perform data engineering tasks such as data workflow management, gathering, and analysis. Spireon develops computer vision-based smart sensors for environmental detection and reporting in the transportation sector. In this role, you will participate in all project phases from machine learning to data engineering and embedded systems development, collaborating across teams to meet project objectives.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities:
* Embedded Systems: Troubleshoot and design device firmware, collaborate with hardware vendors, define technical requirements, validate vendor implementations, and maintain in-house firmware.
* Data Engineering: Build scalable ML data pipelines, design database solutions, develop secure ETLs, assist with deployment and monitoring of ML models, and analyze real-world data and metrics.
* Machine Learning: Develop algorithms for vision classification and detection, research statistical models, implement computer vision and ML algorithms, and prototype ML solutions.
* Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand needs and develop solutions.
* Stay updated with technology trends and communicate findings to decision-makers.
Requirements:
* Experience with embedded systems and firmware development.
* Understanding of AI training and inference techniques.
* Solid foundation in general machine learning systems.
* Knowledge of CNN classification, object detection, and segmentation.
* Experience with embedded systems on memory-constrained, solar, and battery-powered devices.
* Proficiency in coding, especially in Python, C, and C++.
* Experience with computer vision, image processing, and ML frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
* Experience with OpenCV, AWS Sagemaker, and S3.
Skills:
* Proficiency with AWS Cloud Services.
