About the role:
An exciting opportunity to lead the Force’s strategic response as a specified authority under the Serious Violence Duty. This influential role will provide strategic leadership across Serious violence prevention priorities, including VAWG, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, Stalking and Knife Crime, working closely with policing, local authorities, health partners and national stakeholders
The role provides senior leadership across multi‑agency partnerships, oversees strategic programmes and projects, and assures delivery of statutory duties under the Serious Violence Duty.
Ideal candidates will have strong leadership and programme management experience, an understanding of serious violence and public health approaches, and the ability to influence at senior level across complex systems.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and delivering the Force Serious Violence Prevention strategy aligned to national and local priorities
* Providing strategic oversight of violence prevention programmes and cross‑cutting projects
* Assuring compliance with statutory duties and governance requirements
* Managing complex projects, risks and resources, including securing funding where required
* Influencing senior leaders and building strong multi‑agency partnerships
* Using data and insight to understand trends and drive evidence‑based prevention activity
* Providing leadership, line management and professional development to staff
