Senior Maintenance Engineer (Multi skilled, Electrical Bias) – Rugby, Warwickshire
GBP45,000 + GBP2,500 lock-up bonus, generous benefits, generous overtime and pension. Our Rugby based client has been established globally for over a century and is recognised as a market leader in the manufacture and distribution of niche sector solutions. They are seeking a multi skilled, electrically biased Senior Maintenance Engineer to complement their engineering team.
Reporting to the Engineering and Process Improvement Manager, the successful candidate will work Monday to Friday 11:30am to 8:00pm and supervise a multi-disciplinary team of maintenance engineers performing both PPM and reactive maintenance on a range of automated systems and mechanical handling equipment in a fast-paced warehousing and distribution centre environment. The role aims to sustain a safe and efficient working environment at all times.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary maintenance team performing reactive fault finding, diagnosis and repair of automated and manual mechanical handling equipment; analyse breakdowns to determine root cause and prevent recurrence; perform proactive Planned Preventive Maintenance to ensure schedules are met.
* Ensure all KPIs and objectives set for the team are met within target parameters.
* Deliver continuous improvement to equipment and assist with projects; develop and maintain best practices and share experience to support junior engineers and apprentices.
* Coordinate with contractors to ensure on-time project completion while maintaining value for money; undertake site visits to verify work meets required standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven leadership and supervisory experience in an engineering maintenance environment.
* Electrical maintenance engineering apprenticeship or equivalent; ideally an HND or above.
* At least 3 years of experience in an electrically biased, multi-skilled maintenance engineering environment.
* Technical knowledge of automation electrical systems, S7 PLCs and inverter-driven systems, Profinet, Profibus, Can Bus and ASI networks.
* Experience with barcode scanning networks, manual and automated picking cranes, pallet and tote conveyors; broad experience of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
