Role Overview: To carry out all aspects of Housing Regulation in accordance with the legislation, including Licensing HMOs, private sector housing disrepair complaints and enforcement against landlords who haven t complied with the requirements of the Selective Licensing Scheme. To work with the Council s partner agencies, residents, contractors, landlords and agents, Councillors and Leadership as required. To support the Environmental Health Manager and Assistant Environmental Health manager on Housing related issues within the department s work programme as required. Key Requirements: To be responsible for the delivery of an effective Housing Enforcement service, from carrying out HMO licensing to taking enforcement action against landlords that are not complying with legal or licensing requirements. To undertake detailed inspections of properties in accordance with the Housing Act 2004 to ensure that they meet legal and licensing requirements and ensuring that the rectification within a timely manner. To provide technical advice and information to contractors, licence holders and colleagues regarding defaults in the property and how to rectify matters. Making appropriate referrals where necessary. To work with tenants, including vulnerable and hard to engage groups on issues affecting their lives and make appropriate referrals to other agencies to get the help they need.
