HMP & YOI Polmont Prison Visitor Support Service
Visiting Support Services are often the first point of contact for families and loved ones visiting someone in prison. It's a space where people arrive with nerves, questions, emotions and our team is there to greet them with a smile, a cuppa, and a calm, friendly presence.
You'll be leading a team to support visitors before and after their visit, answering questions, offering reassurance, signposting to further support, and helping create a safe, welcoming environment.
This is a flexible, people-focused role that might suit you if you're looking to:

Shifts are available across 7 days, including one weekend per month.

What You'll Be Doing
* Greeting visitors and helping them feel welcome and informed
* Chatting with children and families, helping ease anxieties about the visit
* Signposting people to local and national support services
* Working closely with prison staff and other partners
* Handling sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
* Providing guidance and support to colleagues and volunteers, modelling best practice
* Monitoring and reviewing service delivery to maintain high quality standards
* Acting as the main point of contact for partner agencies on specialist issues
* Contributing to staff training, supervision, and reflective practice sessions
