North Yorkshire Council is seeking a skilled and ambitious Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (FILEX) to join our high-performing Legal Service. About the Role
* Public procurement processes and compliance
* Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
* Grants, subsidy control, and company law
* Local authority trading and governance
You’ll work closely with internal departments and external clients, helping to deliver innovative, legally sound solutions that support the Council’s strategic goals.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX with a practising certificate
* Experience in commercial contracts, procurement, or a related legal area
* Excellent drafting and communication skills
* Forward-thinking, resilient professional able to provide timely solutions in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and elected Members
* Knowledge of court procedures and attending court (if relevant)
* Local Authority experience desirable but not essential
