2 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 6 months. The Digital services team in the Trust leads on Digital strategy, development, co‑ordination, planning, project, and programme management for all Digital and supporting functions. This role forms part of the IT Operations team within the wider Digital Service. The main purpose of this role is to deliver a high‑quality, professional service in issuing, maintaining and upgrading the GHC IT Equipment Estate across all GHC sites, ensuring timely delivery, set‑up and support of IT devices. The post holder will be part of the core hub managing real‑time communications with customers about the status of IT and Clinical Systems and Operations, liaising directly with other services as required.
Main Duties
* Image and configure laptop, desktop and mobile devices.
* Manage inventory of new and existing equipment.
* Install hardware, software applications and security updates.
* Support the full life‑cycle of IT equipment from deployment to de‑commissioning.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
To ensure the provision of a high‑quality, customer‑focused IT service, providing a point‑of‑contact to all staff of the Trust in relation to all services provided.
Endpoint Device Management
* Attend any GHC staffed site within Gloucestershire when required and serve as a point of contact for replacing equipment.
* Install endpoint devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers and docking stations, and provide support where appropriate.
* Check IT equipment as part of the deployment process to ensure it meets GHC IT policy requirements.
* Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate asset‑management records.
* Complete regular asset audits.
* Maintain the life‑cycle of IT equipment, accurate record keeping and disposal of equipment where relevant.
* Provide planned and ad‑hoc reports on location and stock levels.
* Physically handle IT equipment during delivery, installation or disposal.
General
* Comply with and maintain IT policies and procedures.
* Comply with all information governance procedures and protocols.
* Undertake staff training and development as required.
Support Desk Logging
* Receive IT incidents and requests via phone, face‑to‑face, email and the Digital Services portal.
* Utilise knowledge, skills and judgement to provide a resolution where possible, or assign calls to the appropriate team.
* Ensure queries are recorded and dealt with appropriately within agreed Service Level Agreements.
* Ensure day‑to‑day management of technology support services meets GHC KPIs and customer requirements.
* Accurately record information from callers, end users and third‑party service providers on the Service Desk system.
* Escalate problems to the most appropriate team or organisation if unable to provide resolution.
* Liaise with third‑party specialists and suppliers.
A proactive approach, attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential for smooth operations and excellent service delivery.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. The post holder may be required to take part in an on‑call rota providing out‑of‑hours IT support. The job description may change over time with consultation.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Essential Criteria
* A Level 3 Business Administration NVQ or equivalent.
* Good general level of education, particularly in English and Mathematics.
Experience
* Experience in a similar role, together with relevant experience in IT support, project tools and environments.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working within the NHS.
* Experience with IT hardware.
