Job Title: 1st Line Project Support Engineer
Location: Uttoxeter, United Kingdom (Onsite 5 Days a week)
Day Rate: £140 (Inside IR35)
Contract Type: Long term contract
We're seeking a 1st Line Project Support Engineer to support a major Engineering Systems upgrade and maintenance programme. This hands-on role involves working on-site as part of a collaborative IT Engineering Systems team, delivering critical technical support for system installations, upgrades, and deployments.
You'll be the first line of support for incidents and upgrade activities, working closely with colleagues across the UK and international teams in Europe, India, the US, Brazil, and China.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience across a wide range of engineering systems, supported by a team of subject-matter experts.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
* Provide 1st line technical support for Engineering Systems upgrades, maintenance, and deployments
* Support client installations and liaise with project teams to coordinate upgrade activities
* Troubleshoot incidents and provide remote or on-site assistance using remote support tools
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders and end users to organise installs and resolve issues
* Reimage, configure, and deploy new devices
* Install, reinstall, or configure software using scripts or standard methodologies
* Maintain and update asset information and technical documentation
* Work with project managers to schedule and execute upgrade deployments
* Provide Business-as-Usual (BAU) 1st line support when required
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
* Solid understanding of IT systems and processes
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload to meet project deadlines
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
* High attention to detail with a drive to deliver results
* Confident liaising with stakeholders and end users
* Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to support team objectives
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to own transport
