We’re looking for a driven and dynamic Expediting Team Leader to contribute to our continued success on a global scale.
The Role
Expediting Team Leader to oversee the timely and efficient management of the expediting team, to ensure all procurement, customer and logistics schedules are met with accuracy and timeliness. The Expediting Team Leader will be responsible for monitoring supplier and internal performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring all operational targets are achieved.
Key Tasks
* Lead and manage a team of expediters, providing daily guidance, support, and training as needed.
* Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, components, and products through various departments, ensuring timely deliveries and order fulfilment.
* Maintain and update schedules and prioritise critical orders to prevent delays in operations.
* Communicate proactively with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any issues that may impact timelines or supply chain efficiency.
* Review and analyse data from purchase orders, customer schedules, and inventory reports to identify areas for improvement.
* Track and report progress of expedited orders, documenting any delays or issues and developing action plans for resolution.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Sales and Operations, to drive process improvements and minimise lead times.
* Ensure accurate and efficient recordkeeping of all expediting activities.
* Manage vendor performance, ensuring adherence to contractual delivery terms and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Provide regular updates to management on team performance, project timelines, and potential risks.
The Candidate
We are seeking a service-driven individual with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both verbal and written. While experience in sales, expediting, logistics, or supply chain management, as well as knowledge of fastenings and procurement, would be advantageous, they are not essential as full training will be provided. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required, and experience with stock control systems or procurement tools would be beneficial, though training will also be given.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external customers is a key part of this role.
