We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells. HMP Five Wells is a category C resettlement prison based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, and houses around 1,687 patients. Within this role, you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be supported by a second Psychiatrist who is also our national psychiatry lead.
Hours
This position can be offered as either full time (5 days per week) or part time (2 or 3 days per week). Working hours are based on 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary
You will receive an annual salary up to £189,900 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

* You will be part of a team of 15+ experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists.
* You will be able to attend monthly Consultant meetings and 1:1 clinical supervision.
* Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course.

Candidate requirements:
Legal right to work in the UK is required. Employment offers are subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
* Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.
* Participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service development, and provide clinical supervision.
* Work within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in complex case reviews.
Qualifications required
* Current GMC registration.
* Specialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
* Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
* Understanding of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working.
* Up-to-date knowledge of adult psychiatry and PD.
* Awareness of current issues in mental health policy and legislation.
