A major UK energy organisation is looking for a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join their high-performing IT function. This role is perfect for someone who wants full visibility, full admin access, and real ownership of enterprise-scale Azure and Cisco Meraki environments. This is a project-led role where you'll assess the current cloud and network infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and lead the design and delivery of modern, secure, and scalable solutions. Location: Northampton (Hybrid - 2 days remote) Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time Salary: Competitive Benefits Key Responsibilities * Fully own and administer the organisation's Azure environment and Cisco Meraki network infrastructure - with no restrictions to global admin access. * Evaluate the current infrastructure landscape and drive project-based improvements across cloud and network layers. * Design, deploy, and optimise Microsoft Azure solutions including IaaS, PaaS, networking, and hybrid identity. * Lead Meraki deployments (APs, switches, SD-WAN), ensuring scalable, secure connectivity. * Drive continuous improvement across backup, DR, identity, and endpoint security. * Act as an escalation point for 3rd line incidents and support a culture of technical excellence within the wider IT team. * Collaborate with internal stakeholders on new digital transformation initiatives, cloud migrations, and ongoing enhancements. * Ensure all cloud infrastructure projects align with cost-optimisation and governance best practices. Required Experience * Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure - including cloud architecture, hybrid identity, conditional access, and Azure AD. * Deep working knowledge of Cisco Meraki - managing networks across switching, wireless, and security appliances. * Proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure and migration projects in mid-to-large enterprise environments. * Experience managing Windows Server, Active Directory, and M365 in hybrid setups. * Strong grasp of cloud security, cost control (FinOps), and performance monitoring principles. * Experience with scripting, documentation, and automation tools. * Ability to lead projects independently and work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desirable * Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305 or equivalent). * Knowledge of PowerShell, Intune, Sentinel, and Power Platform. * Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise infrastructure documentation.
