As an Electrical Technician, you’ll be working on the assembly, service, and support of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and subsea equipment. You’ll be responsible for the complex wiring, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems critical to offshore and underwater operations.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical assembly and panel wiring on subsea and offshore equipment
Interpret and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Strip, crimp, terminate, and route various types of cables including umbilicals
Support build, servicing, and upgrades of ROVs and associated systems
Ensure builds meet industry standards and safety regulations
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and across service operations
Perform electrical testing and fault-finding to ensure functionality and reliability
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Strong background in complex panel wiring and electrical assembly
Ability to work from technical schematics and engineering drawings
Skilled in handling and terminating multi-core, screened and subsea cables
HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
A proactive, detail-oriented approach to quality and safety
Experience working in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment
Desirable:
Previous experience with ROVs, AUVs, or subsea equipment
Familiarity with offshore service work or commissioning
Understanding of marine or subsea cable handling

For clarity: this role requires someone who can work on site in Tyne and Wear as required, this counts towards annualised salaried hours. You need to be available to travel on short notice. The employed is not able to offer sponsorship. Only those with relevant ROV experience will be considered for this role.
