Senior Speech & Language Therapist – Hillingdon Granges
Location: Upton Grange (primarily). May support other Hillingdon Granges sites.
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE (DOE) plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (£2,500 after 1 month, £2,500 after probation). T&C apply.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30–16.30.
Contract: Permanent (term‑time only), flexible discussion around full‑time contract.
Role Overview
Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodiversity or SEMH needs within a multidisciplinary educational setting. Manage a caseload of children and young people, contributing to staff training, consultation and supervised practice. Work within OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working and relevant professional standards.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered
* 1–2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting
* Experience engaging with complex and diverse communication profiles in previous roles
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
* Experience of multidisciplinary working and communication with families, relatives and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
* Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgemental skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Good time‑management and organisational skills
* Competence in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT communication standards
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types and support plan formulation
* Knowledge of relevant legislation for clinical practice and professional management
* Collaborative teamwork skillset
* Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications pertinent to the client group
* Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences and their impact on communication
* Knowledge of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
* Experience with ASD
