The Department of Chemistry at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Associate in Next-generation K-ion Battery Cathodes to work in the group of [supervisor's name]. This role is indefinite, subject to funding, which is currently available until 31/01/2027.
The project involves developing next-generation cathodes for K-ion batteries (KIBs). Main duties include preparing and optimizing novel metal fluorides for KIB cathode applications. The key objective is to understand the relationship between the structure topology of metal fluoride frameworks and their electrochemical properties.
About You
You will:
1. Have a PhD (or nearing completion with thesis submitted) in chemistry or a related discipline.
2. Have practical laboratory research experience.
3. Possess good English communication skills.
4. Demonstrate expertise in X-ray or neutron crystallography, or solid-state NMR.
