Job Description
The team operates in a dual‑mode agile environment, requiring the Product Business Analyst to:
3. Contribute to discovery, backlog refinement and delivery of roadmap items.
4. Support live data and analytics products through small changes, defect analysis and incident investigation.
5. Work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers and stakeholders to ensure both planned and unplanned work is managed transparently and effectively.
Key activities
6. Works closely with business users to understand problems, assess impact and identify appropriate technical, process or configuration‑based solutions.
7. Translates business needs into clear problem statements, functional requirements and acceptance criteria for both delivery and BAU work.
8. Acts as the first‑line business analysis capability for live data and analytics products, supporting investigation of data issues, defects and user‑reported incidents.
9. Works with Product Owners, Architects and Developers to analyse, size and prioritise BAU requests alongside sprint commitments.
10. Supports root‑cause analysis of data quality, reporting or integration issues and shapes resulting change items.
11. Ensures BAU and incident‑driven work is captured, prioritised and sequenced effectively within agile backlogs.
12. Validates that business and technical requirements are met throughout delivery and change cycles.
13. Oversees and supports user acceptance testing activities where appropriate.
14. Creates and maintains lightweight documentation, process flows and user guidance to support live products and effective handover.
15. Provides subject‑matter expertise to support innovation, improvement and future product direction.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Product Business Analyst should have:
16. Strong experience as a Business Analyst working in agile, product‑oriented teams.
17. Strong understanding of Agile ways of working, including backlog management, sprint ceremonies and balancing planned delivery with reactive BAU demand.
18. Proven experience in requirements elicitation, impact analysis and problem definition.
19. Comfortable working with a mix of strategic initiatives and small, fast‑turnaround change.
20. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
21. Highly detail‑oriented, with a structured and pragmatic approach to analysis.
Desirable:
22. Experience supporting live data or reporting platforms.
23. Power BI, Azure DevOps or similar tooling.
24. Experience supporting or facilitating agile ceremonies when required.
25. Experience with conceptual and logical data modelling.
