Role responsibilities
* Implement and maintain server infrastructure across Azure and on-premises platforms by deploying and managing virtual and physical servers using Azure tools and local data centre resources, following best practices for configuration and security to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure that supports business‑critical applications.
* Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, SharePoint, and Intune by configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 services using the admin centre and PowerShell, to maintain seamless communication, collaboration, and device management across the organisation.
* Monitor and optimise backup and replication services using Veeam and related tools to schedule, verify, and restore backups, and adjust replication settings based on performance metrics, to safeguard data integrity and ensure rapid recovery in case of system failures or data loss.
* Participate in infrastructure projects and contribute to technical refresh planning 12 months in advance and resolve escalated complex issues by providing 2nd line support to the Service Desks and Security teams to enable business continuity.
* Participate in an on‑call rota ensuring continuity of service for TfW’s operations.
Who we’re looking for
* Experience with Windows Server operating systems and hypervisor platforms 2016 and beyond, VMware/vSphere.
* Experience using and providing support for Cloud technologies (Azure IaaS and Microsoft 365 administration).
* Data Centre operations and management including Backup and disaster recovery planning.
* Experience or demonstrable experience of PowerShell scripting and automation.
* Knowledge of the principles of ITIL and ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
