Vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust
Come and Join our amazing team in ED at RLI!
An opportunity has arisen for additional Clinical Support Workers to join the Emergency Department Team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and motivated individuals ideally with acute care experience but this is not essential as training and support will be provided.
We have developed and grown so much over the last few years and have introduced streaming and rapid assessment at the front door for a better patient experience and journey which you will be involved in.
We also cover the Minor Injury treatment which operates 8 am – 8 pm.
A shift system is in operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the RN.
* Record patient information.
* Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
* Take clinical observations.
* Conduct minor injury treatments and plaster casts.
About Our Facilities
We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal – as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and RLI provide full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH offers a range of General Hospital services with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. Local outreach services and diagnostics are also provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
