The Opportunity
We are seeking an EC&I Construction Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of engineering projects in a highly regulated environment. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that safety, schedule, commercial performance, and team productivity are prioritised and delivered to the highest standards.
This role will be 50/hrs per week, and will require weekends on a rota pattern
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Support the Project Manager and wider leadership team to ensure efficient project delivery.
* Provide strong safety leadership and ensure full compliance with EHS&Q requirements.
* Maintain oversight and assurance of project progress through timely and accurate reporting.
* Build and manage high-performing project teams, ensuring adequate resourcing and sustained workforce productivity.
* Identify and mitigate key project risks and blockers, while recognising and acting on opportunities for improvement.
* Assess work programmes for viability, priorities, and resource requirements to maximise success.
* Ensure commercial control and compliance with client procedures are maintained.
* Manage the performance of key suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring commercial terms are upheld.
* Maintain ownership of schedule interdependencies, taking proactive measures to address risks.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
* Proven experience delivering projects within highly regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, defence, energy, etc.).
* HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline (preferably electrical).
* Project Management qualification (e.g., APM, PRINCE2) preferred.
* Strong, demonstrable knowledge of the full project lifecycle.
* Solid understanding and practical experience with NEC contract management.
