Energis is recruiting on behalf of one of Northern Ireland’s engineering success stories – a growing manufacturing organisation that has recently undergone significant investment and expansion. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a progressive business and play a key role in driving manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes operate in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible while maintaining high quality standards. You will identify and implement the most effective manufacturing technologies and processes, optimise factory layout and workflow, and support ongoing operational improvements. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate existing quality control processes and recommend improvements Analyse and report on manufacturing performance including production methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, machine utilisation and waste Review tooling and equipment costs and support forecasting of manufacturing overheads Analyse workflow, space requirements and equipment positioning to maximise efficiency Ensure manufacturing staff operate equipment in accordance with procedures and best practice guidelines Develop and establish effective manufacturing work sequences Support manufacturing decisions through cost analysis, material calculations and make-versus-buy evaluations Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality enhancement, productivity gains and cost reduction Provide technical manufacturing support and expertise to operational teams Identify and implement process improvements including new methods, tooling, fixtures and design modifications Train and support production teams, including creating work instructions and training documentation Develop and maintain Process FMEAs and Control Plans Maintain manufacturing Bill of Materials (BoM) data including material usage, lead times and costing, ensuring ERP systems remain up to date Essential Criteria: Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline Minimum 3–4 years’ relevant manufacturing engineering experience Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills This role offers the opportunity to join a business continuing to invest in its people, technology and future growth.
