Science Tutor – SEMH Learners

TP Tutors is looking for a confident and compassionate Science Tutor to support learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. These students often require a creative, trauma-informed approach that goes beyond traditional teaching methods.
You’ll work 1:1 or in small groups, helping students build academic confidence and make science feel relevant and achievable.
What’s involved:
* Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on science lessons tailored to each pupil’s interests and emotional needs
* Travel to various settings (homes, alternative provisions, or community venues)
* Take control of your schedule and adapt sessions based on learner feedback and progress
* Collaborate with parents, carers, case workers, and tuition consultants
* Submit progress reports and session reflections via our cloud-based platform
Requirements:
* Proven UK-based experience with SEMH or behaviourally complex learners
* QTS is desirable, though a strong background with a relevant degree and experience will be considered
* A valid DBS (Child Workforce only) on the Update Service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
