The Role – Trainee Teaching Assistant As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 4–19 across the school while developing your skills and understanding of SEND practice. Your daily duties will include: Providing 1:1 Trainee Teaching Assistant support and assisting small groups to help pupils take part in learning. Working with children who may have ASD, communication difficulties, sensory needs, SEMH, PMLD or physical challenges. Helping to create a calm, structured and positive classroom atmosphere. Assisting pupils with personal care, feeding and mobility if needed (full guidance and training can be provided). Building supportive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff. Working closely with teachers, therapists and experienced Teaching Assistants to learn effective strategies.
