What the job involves The role requires you to operationally provide high-quality inspection, recording, and reporting on statutory undertakers works, Council-promoted works, and their contractors to ensure compliance with conditions stipulated in permissions. You will be responsible for validating permit condition accuracy, performing inspections, managing income recovery through charges and fines, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. Duties include supervising staff, attending site meetings, providing technical advice, and ensuring health and safety compliance on-site. Skills Good understanding of contemporary policy, legislation, and practice relating to network management and highways Familiarity with the Highways Act 1980, Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, TMA 2004, and NRSWA 1991 Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage and supervise staff effectively Capacity to work with limited supervision Collaborative mindset to work with internal and external networks Ability to assess risk and ensure health and safety compliance Commitment to customer service excellence and diversity
