Service Transition Manager
Job Description
As a Service Transition Manager, you’ll be at the heart of delivering Skynet – a critical programme supporting the UK Ministry of Defence. This is your chance to make a real impact by ensuring seamless service transitions that keep our nation connected and secure. You’ll work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with military personnel and stakeholders, while developing your career in defence, aerospace, and engineering.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities
* Manage service transition activities and governance processes.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including military personnel.
* Ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with contractual obligations.
* Communicate effectively with third‑party suppliers to remove blockers and maintain smooth operations.
* Lead multi‑functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Experience
* Familiarity with ITIL V3 or V4 (beneficial but not essential).
* Understanding of commercial or satellite communications (advantageous).
* Ability to obtain SC clearance (DV clearance is beneficial).
* Previous experience in IT Service Management or a similar role.
* Project Management experience.
Qualifications
* Project Management qualifications such as APM PFQ or PMI CAPM.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
