We are currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join our London team. In this role, you will perform maintenance activities through a combination of hands-on work and resource management for all mechanical, electrical, and C&I issues affecting or likely to affect production. You will assist the Energy Centre Manager in understanding and predicting maintenance issues to ensure plans incorporate suitable engineering solutions, with all maintenance managed via our system.

Key responsibilities include
* Providing technical advice and assisting the Energy Centre Manager in developing and executing the site maintenance plan.
* Identifying, developing, and implementing plant improvements.
* Carrying out planned and unplanned plant maintenance in line with your skills and expertise.
* Analyzing plant issues and providing recommendations to the Energy Centre Manager.
* Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work to support future strategies.
* Contributing to site Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) plans and initiatives.
* Supporting and mentoring trainees and junior staff.
* Managing contracts and contractors, including scheduling, reviewing, and addressing performance issues.
* Keeping contract records, drawings, maintenance records, and plant history up to date.
* Managing site stock of consumables and strategic spares.
* Supporting the delivery of the business excellence programme.
* Promoting a positive safety culture and demonstrating commitment to SHE through actions.
* Participating in the on-call standby rota for your region.
What we need from you
* Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with significant expertise in general engineering principles and a specialist skill area—C&I, Mechanical, or Electrical.
* The ability to innovate and challenge existing processes to improve efficiency.
* A willingness to develop the site by adopting best practices and improving plant operational and commercial performance.
* An IOSH (Managing Safely) or equivalent qualification, demonstrating safety knowledge and management skills.
* The capability and willingness to achieve E.ON's required competency levels for an Authorised Engineer.
* Competent in hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk management.
* Proficient with PC-based systems and maintenance/information management systems.
* Strong planning and organizational skills, including task prioritization and resource management.
* An understanding of operational practices and procedures, with the ability to recognize and diagnose problems through data evaluation.
Preferred qualifications
* Forklift truck driving experience.
* Previous contract management experience, with the ability to challenge contractors on methods, quality, and standards.
* HV Senior Authorized Person certification.
