The role The Contracts Manager, primary responsibility is to ensure the successful execution of projects by overseeing key contractual elements, managing budgets and timelines, and achieving project objectives. The Contracts Manager is the main point of contact for clients, handling program progress, commercial issues, and change management. The role involves maintaining a clear understanding of contract requirements, overseeing project staffing and budget, and developing comprehensive plans for project stages. Key responsibilities: * Manage project contracts, budgets, and schedules, ensuring compliance with objectives and deliverables. * Oversee cost, time, quality, and scope while supporting project requirements development. * Act as the client-facing representative for progress, programme, and commercial issues, managing changes effectively. * Ensure adherence to contract requirements and manage project staffing and prelims budget. * Develop project delivery plans, including setup, phasing, and programme of works. * Chair internal and external meetings, tracking progress and KPIs for departments, subcontractors, and suppliers. * Implement and maintain HSQE procedures to meet company standards, ISO accreditations, and legal compliance. * Supervise site activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and timely completion. * Monitor on-site performance, assess risks, and ensure work aligns with project plans. * Produce weekly progress reports and oversee project performance through the business lifecycle. * Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve objectives, ensuring accountability and alignment. * Coordinate departments for smooth project delivery, maintaining diligent documentation and resolving issues promptly. * Foster clear communication, continual improvement, and confidentiality across all internal and external activities. Key skills and experience required: * A Suitable construction management qualification such as HNC/HND/BSc (Essential) * SMSTS Certification (Essential) * CSCS Black Card or similar (Essential) * Full Clean UK Drivers License (Essential) * Proven technical knowledge of construction and understanding of construction procedures (Essential) * Proven experience managing JCT D&B Contracts (Essential) * Understanding of Brownfield sites and their complexities (Essential) * 3 Years Experience in a Contracts or Project Management position (Essential) * Experience working on project values up to £15M (Essential) * Experience using Asta Powerproject (Desirable)
