Equans Sci-Tech is seeking to appoint a Mechanical Design Degree Apprentice to be based in Motherwell.\n\nIf you are looking to start your career our Early Careers programme will give you the opportunity to develop and grow via an apprenticeship. You will get paid whilst you gain job specific training and experience and will join a team who are committed to providing highly competitive design, build and maintain solutions for our customers in the data centre, pharmaceutical and life science markets. As a Mechanical Design Degree Apprentice, you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks ranging from assisting engineers, undertaking calculations, develop innovative technical solutions and coordinating detailed drawings, interlinking with a multi-disciplinary business. You will also play a pivotal role within the design team in producing design-based documentation, ensuring our projects meet the highest standards. The on job learning will assist in your personal development to become a qualified engineer.\n\nWorking alongside an experienced team the key task you will be involved in are:\n\nAssisting senior engineers in the design of mechanical building services systems\n\n- Liaising with in house multi-discipline departments for coordination\n\n- Undertaking calculations\n\n- Use of Hevacomp software\n\n- Taking ownership and responsibility\n\n- Keep up with current standards and technologies\n\n- Be aware of health and safety requirements in all aspects of the role\n\nThe apprenticeship will include a study day at Glasgow Caledonian University.\n\nThe following qualifications will be attained through this apprenticeship:\n\nBEng (Hons) Engineering Design and Manufacture degree - A minimum of a Higher B in Maths and 1 other Higher B plus 2 Higher Câs or equivalent qualifications.\n\n- Good problem solving skills\n\n- Attention to detail\n\n- Due to the location study and work, it is preferred for the candidate to have a driving licence and transport or on the path to completing their test in the near future.
