Post:Salaried GP for Special Allocation Service (Compass Medical Practice)

Pay:£54.00 per hour to £56.50 per hour depending on experience

PLUS, a Golden Hello of £2.5k paid in two instalments over 6 months

(this applies to EXTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY and is pro rata to hours worked per week)

Hours:Part Time 22.5 / week to be worked on Monday, Thursday and Friday

Welcome to FCMS!We are looking for enthusiastic GPs to join our ever-expanding team. As a GP with FCMS you will provide excellent patient care whilst playing an active role in clinical governance and training clinicians.

Our Services

As FCMS we provide several services across the Fylde Coast, Morecambe Bay, Rossendale, West Lancashire and Doncaster as well as diagnostic services across the country. These include GP Out of Hours services, Urgent Treatment Centres, and range of other Primary Care Services including Enhanced Access (Fylde Coast) and Special Allocation Services (Lancashire / Cumbria/Parts of Cheshire and Merseyside).

For this role the GP would work within in our Special Allocation Service which is a GP practice for Difficult to Dr patients and those with complex needs. This is a remote practice However, face to face appointments are undertaken in the patients community at a clinical venue or in our mobile clinical unit with a Patient Liaison Officer Present based on a risk assessment of the patients needs. The GP would also undertake telephone / video assessments for consultations when appropriate. Appointments are made according to clinical need via Patchs and documentation is via EMIS. We are a trauma informed service, and this ethos underpins our services.

Opportunity

We can also offer the opportunity to learn and develop your skills through our Inclusion health business unit. The Special allocation Service forms part of this business unit. The Successful GP will also support our homeless health nursing provision in both Blackpool and North Lancashire and Thornton House Rehab this gives the GP opportunity to undertake weekly ward rounds. Role

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional and administrative colleagues. You will provide consultations and appropriate clinical management to patients attending with injury and illness to services, either face to face or virtually.As well as broad clinical practice within supportive, dynamic teams, the post includes regular dedicated time for Continuing Professional Development and study leave.The post holder also has additional responsibilities:

The role will provide additional mentorship and support to new and evolving roles in our clinical workforce and to clinical trainees of all professions.

The role will contribute to the Clinical Governance agenda within the specified location/Business Unit.

The role will contribute to clinical innovation across the organisation.

The role will contribute to clinical digital developments and integration across the organisation.

The role will play a pivotal part in developing partnerships with relevant stakeholder organisations ensuring effective care pathways.

The post holder will:

* Provide, as part of a core team of salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and other Clinicians, high quality clinical services to the populations we serve in line with local and national priorities.
* In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working in a mainstream GP practice.
* Keep contemporaneous, accurate and legible records of all patient contacts and contribute to electronic data recording and audit as directed by the service.
* Contribute to evaluation/audit, significant event reporting and clinical standard setting within the service.
* Develop and encourage positive working relationships with local GP Practices, housing, social work, voluntary services, drug and alcohol, mental health, dental, secondary care and other appropriate services.
* Participate in organisational, operational and strategic planning where appropriate/required.
* Engage with continuing professional and personal development. Study leave will be provided per year, pro rata for CPD following discussion with Clinical Head of Primary and Community Care and Line Manager as part of the appraisal process. All study leave must be approved by the post holders line manager.
* Participate in Significant Event analysis.
* Support the Management team and Clinical Manager to ensure all service KPIs/targets are met and look for improvement over and above the set commissioned targets.
* Monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, and evidence-based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and providing skilled professional leadership.
* Contribute to the Clinical Governance agenda within the service by leading audit and research as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the area of expertise. This governance meeting would form part of the full-time hours
* The successful candidate would be expected to attend the internal Multi-Disciplinary Meeting once a month to discuss patients

* Ensure full accreditation and requirements of practice to include full registration with GMC license to practice, membership of an appropriate defence body and delivery of annual evidence for appraisal or accreditation purposes in keeping with national requirements.

Physical effort and working conditions.

The post holder will:

* Be responsible to ensure all aspects of the Manual Handling guidelines are followed, providing appropriate risk assessments.
* Be responsible for managing clinical care following required Policies and Procedures pertaining to bodily fluids, infection control and COSHH regulations resulting in frequent exposure to highly unpleasant working conditions.
* Be responsible for managing challenging situations and people, with some exposure to hazards, e.g., violent and abusive patients, child abuse, critically ill patients.
* Manage own time effectively within variable shift patterns.

Most challenging part of the role:

* Ability to work under pressure in an ever changing, challenging specialist environment whilst maintaining excellent standards of patient care.
* Dealing with difficult situations and people by demonstrating and exercising critical thinking skills when faced with incomplete or lack of information or complexity.
* Manage patient and public expectations of the service within set national targets and time constraints.
* Manage effective change and development within clinical areas, maintaining highly specialised knowledge and competences.
* Any other duties considered relevant to the post and commensurate with the post holders grade and as agreed by their line manager.
* The main duties and responsibilities above are not exhaustive and should merely be regarded as a guide.
