An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and clinically excellent clinician to join the WAST NHS 111 Wales Education, Professional and Clinical Practice team as a Professional Practice Educator.


Main duties of the job

This post comes at a time of exciting change and development within the Welsh Ambulance Service University NHS Trust, and will provide the successful candidates with a unique opportunity to become part of a dynamic team providing education and support to our people. The successful candidate will support the integrated care team in developing, maintaining and improving professional and educational standards and will support the implementation and progress of professionally accredited educational programmes within competency frameworks.

As an experienced clinician, you will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and be familiar with clinical decision software tools. You will have the opportunity to become a systems expert and this will allow you to support and advise the wider team. You will undertake regular clinical shifts to maintain your own competency. You will be responsible for education/training delivery on our induction training programmes, professional practice education, continual professional development (CPD), education and compliance support.

The post holder will also be responsible for the development, co-delivery and facilitation of in house training programmes and working closely with local, national and international stakeholders to provide high quality, constantly improving telephone and remote triage.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications


Essential criteria

* Registered Clinician (NMC/HPCP)
* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent practice experience within a clinical education environment.
* Evidence of post registration education & training.
* Recognised teaching certificate/qualification or willing to work towards.


Desirable criteria

* Management or supervisory qualification
* Clinical supervision

Essential criteria

* Ability to travel to other Trust sites within Wales
* Ability to travel outside of Wales to attend meetings/conferences when required as part of the role.
* Enhanced DBS Check


Experience & Knowledge


Essential criteria

* Post-registration clinical experience within more than one nursing or clinical Environment.
* Experience of teaching/training adult learners.
* Knowledge and experience of computer decision support
* Experience in clinical supervision/preceptorship/ mentorship.
* Experience of multiprofessional/multi-agency working.


Desirable criteria

* Experience of project management and report writing
* Experience in standardsetting/clinical audit.
* Experience of developing systems to support service delivery
* Recruitment & Selection experience
