This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Private Family Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded Merseyside firm at an exciting stage of growth and succession planning.
The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering outstanding client care and high-quality private family work, with a loyal client base and a steady stream of instructions. Due to continued demand, they are now looking for a senior solicitor to play a key role in the future development of the team.
You’ll take ownership of a varied privately funded caseload while also helping to support the day-to-day running and development of the department. This is far more than a fee-earning role, it’s a genuine opportunity to influence culture, mentor junior team members and help shape the future direction of the family offering.

Who we’re looking for
4. Qualified Family Solicitor with 5+ PQE
5. Strong experience handling privately funded family work
6. Experienced managing divorce, financial remedy and children matters
7. Comfortable handling complex financial disputes independently
8. Supervisory or leadership experience would be advantageous
9. Commercially aware with a proactive approach
10. Friendly, approachable and collaborative personality
11. Strong communicator with excellent client care skills
12. Someone who enjoys supporting and developing others
13. Calm under pressure with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
What you’ll be doing
14. Managing a varied caseload of private family matters from instruction through to conclusion
15. Advising clients on divorce, financial remedy and private children matters
16. Handling complex and high-value financial disputes
17. Supervising and mentoring junior team members
18. Supporting team performance, profitability and operational development
19. Working closely with senior leadership on team planning and growth
20. Attending court hearings and managing case strategy
21. Supporting business development and cross-referral opportunities where appropriate
22. Helping maintain excellent client care and service standards across the department
Salary & Benefits
23. Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience
24. Discretionary bonus scheme
25. Hybrid working – typically 3 days in the office
26. Potential flexibility for 2 office days depending on commute
27. Open to compressed hours and 4-day working week
28. 25 days holiday plus bank holiday, and birthday off
29. Christmas shutdown without using annual leave
