Role: Infrastructure Support Engineer
Location: Gloucestershire (Hybrid – weekly office visits + client travel)
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Bonus

Our client, a leading organisation in the education IT services sector, is hiring an Infrastructure Support Engineer to deliver high-quality technical support and infrastructure expertise across a growing client base.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of helpdesk delivery while working on a wide range of modern infrastructure technologies, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic projects.
What you’ll do
* Provide 2nd/3rd line remote support to client IT teams
* Deliver onsite and remote project engineering across infrastructure environments
* Support and manage firewalls, networks, servers, and cloud platforms
* Conduct technical assessments and contribute to infrastructure roadmaps
* Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues
You’ll work closely with internal teams, client stakeholders, and IT managers to ensure a consistently high standard of service and delivery.
What we’re looking for
* Strong 2nd/3rd line experience across networking, firewalls, and Windows Server
* Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, routing, and subnetting
* Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra ID
* Background working within an ITIL-aligned Service Desk environment
* Proven ability to deliver onsite and client-facing engineering support
