The Role
*
Assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients with undifferentiated and urgent conditions
*
Manage minor illness and acute presentations independently
*
Take comprehensive patient histories and perform advanced clinical assessments
*
Request and interpret diagnostics (pathology, imaging, ECGs) within scope of practice
*
Prescribe medications as an Independent Prescriber (where qualified)
*
Safely escalate and refer patients to GPs, specialty teams, or Emergency Departments as needed
*
Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies
*
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to clinical governance standards
*
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical support to colleagues
The Person
*
Registered healthcare professional (NMC, HCPC, or GMC)
*
Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice or two Level 7 qualifications
*
Independent Prescriber (V300) or equivalent
*
Strong background in urgent care, emergency care, or primary care
*
Confident managing undifferentiated patients autonomously
*
Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and decision-making skills
*
Evidence of ongoing CPD and professional development
*
ALS / ILS certification (desirable)
*
Experience in UTC or ED settings (desirable)
*
Familiar with local referral pathways and integrated care systems (desirable)
