What you will be doing
Our work ranges from supporting local client needs, through to large scale national, European and international research, monitoring and impact evaluations. We work across a range of policy areas including environment, education, employment, children, young people and families, health and wellbeing. Our environment work includes nature recovery, net zero, climate change, green finance, Just Transition and rural development
We are looking for Research Manager to support in the winning and delivery of research, evaluation and consultancy projects within the Policy and Research Team across our environmental projects.
As a Research Manager you can expect to:
1. Provide high quality research and consultancy inputs to a range of research, evaluation and consultancy projects for a range of public sector clients and charities
2. Provide quantitative and qualitative support to research and evaluation projects including, inter alia, Key Information Interviews, focus groups, surveys, literature reviews, and analysis of Management Information and other datasets.
3. Project manage smaller projects or parts of larger projects under the guidance and supervision of Project Directors or other senior staff, keeping oversight on timescales, deliverables and budget
4. Produce high quality analytical outputs and written reports/outputs, and present research findings effectively. This includes contributing to a range of outputs such as blog posts, articles, social media postings, newsletters, good practice guides
5. Have good commercial awareness and appreciation of the environment in which Ecorys UK works and contribute new ideas for future development of the business
6. Contribute to EOIs/PQQs and full proposals/tenders/bids and pitches for prospective clients, in response to invitations to tender
7. Undertake targeted business development and client and competitor research in respect of opportunities to advance the company's work under the direction of senior staff
What we will need from you
Essential
8. Experience in the development and delivery of evaluation or research into environmental policies, programmes and interventions
9. Good commercial awareness, knowledge of the policy and market environment and ability to contribute to winning new work for the company towards an agreed target
10. Demonstrable experience of effective project management
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills
12. Demonstrable experience of the design/implementation of qualitative and/or quantitative research
13. Ability to organise, analyse and evaluate complex quantitative and qualitative data
Desirable
14. Recent experience of working in a consultancy or research environment
15. Highly competent in use of relevant software packages (incl. Excel, R, Stata, SPSS, NVivo
Due to the nature of research, this role requires a DBS check.
Our team of + researchers is based across our offices in Birmingham, London, Leeds, and Brussels. Our team works in a hybrid way flexing between home and the office as needed. You can choose to work flexibly with the opportunity to travel into one of our UK offices when required.
We offer a highly competitive benefits package including variable pay (bonus), share scheme and buying and selling annual leave. Colleagues based at our London office will also receive an additional £3, London Weighting per annum.
