Overview

The VMware Pre‑Sales Consultant will be responsible for driving the pre‑sales process by providing expert technical guidance, solution design, and strategic consulting to prospective clients. The role requires collaboration with sales teams, customers, and technical teams to ensure successful positioning of VMware solutions.


Key Responsibilities

* Scoping and sizing opportunities: work with sales and clients to assess requirements, objectives, and constraints; scope and size licensing opportunities to align with client expectations.
* Solution design and proposal development: recommend VMware solutions tailored to client needs, act as a trusted advisor, understand offerings and position benefits.
* Sales support and collaboration: guide sales through discovery to proposal; identify cross‑sell/upsell opportunities; develop initiatives to maximise revenue and satisfaction.
* Margin definition and alignment: define pricing, optimise incentives, remain competitive, and drive margins.
* Quoting for strategic, complex requests: craft detailed quotes and coordinate with stakeholders for accuracy and feasibility.
* Creation and maintenance of solution collaterals: develop a repository of presentations, case studies, white papers, and other materials; update with the latest product features and success stories.


Job Requirements

* Business problem solving via technology: analyse complex business challenges and recommend solutions, translate requirements into actionable strategies.
* ISV/Category expertise: deep understanding of VMware and leverage expertise to position relevant solutions.
* Sales acumen: commercial awareness, proficiency in sales techniques, ability to identify opportunities, overcome objections, and close deals.
* Strong verbal communication: articulate complex concepts clearly, build rapport at all levels.
* Sales processes and awareness: understand sales methodologies and navigate the full sales cycle.
* Industry/market awareness: knowledge of industries, emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory frameworks.
* Continuous learning orientation: stay updated on industry developments and commit to professional growth.
