Together for Children are looking to appoint an experienced Social Worker/Advanced Practitioner within our Emergency Duty Team. We work on behalf of Sunderland City Council to deliver children’s services in the city. The successful candidate will have the confidence, ability and skills to manage complex and high-risk safeguarding situations whilst working alone. This will be as part of the out of normal hours service including weekends and bank holidays. A successful candidate must feel confident deciding whether matters considered by the Emergency Duty Team require an immediate safeguarding response, and be able to independently initiate this considering relevant legislation, policy and procedures whilst ensuring safe planning for children and their families.
In addition to this, the post holder will take responsibility for using resources out of hours and will assist in overseeing, supporting colleagues, both from within Together for Children and those working in partner agencies who share our safeguarding responsibilities to children and young people across the community.
