Business Development Manager
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a leading engineering company based in Southampton. This role could be great for someone to develop their sales experience.
Introduction
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to develop sales strategies and attract new customers and existing customers.
Responsibilities
* Review and research prospective accounts in targeted markets and sectors
* Produce and communicate report/presentations on findings, pursue leads and follow through to a successful engagement.
* Utilise time effectively to meet with appropriate stakeholders to understand needs and how the business can fulfil them.
* Develop sales strategy and work with sales teams to fulfil this.
* Maximises personal productivity by effectively planning, organising and managing workload
* Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on an assortment of sources: trade publications, customer references, business directories and other sources
* Prepares appropriate reports in agreed format and to agreed timescales.
* Travel (UK based) as required to identify and manage new business opportunities and support existing customers.
* Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract customers
* Communicate appropriately new products and opportunities to customers.
* Attend agreed networking events.
* Overseeing customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements.
Ideal Skills & Experience
* Two or more years’ proven experience in business development / sales experience.
* Highly motivated and able to work individually or in a team
* Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Driving license
Salary:
£35K + Bonus
Hours:
Monday to Friday in Southampton, UK travel involved
