Department Profile: Regulatory Technology: We support a number of business areas and applications for general ledger, financial reference data, comp and non-comp accounting, cost allocations, corporate reporting and financial information delivery for management reporting. We have a mixture of vendor applications and proprietary software solutions. Team Profile: Finance Technology are looking for a developer to join the existing team in Glasgow with the primary goal of focusing on Strategic architecture builds and enhancing existing applications to meet our Regulatory obligations. The existing EMEA Regulatory Reporting team is predominantly based in Glasgow with a few members Globally. The team has 15 developers in Glasgow providing technology solutions to regulatory and legal entity controllers across European regions, working on a combination of regional and global solutions that support the firm’s Finance Department in the collection, enrichment and reporting of financial regulatory taxonomies. The primary focus of the team is on delivery of outstanding solutions to our internal business clients. The team will focus on defining and adopting the future cloud technology strategy, adopting the best practices and architectural design to ensure we deliver new products which help to improve our clients working patterns and mitigate risks in the Regulatory reporting that is being generated. What You'll Do in the Role: The candidate will be working within an existing squad building solutions that fit our user’s needs. Morgan Stanley are working with the regulatory agencies on complex taxonomies as well as giving our internal users the ability to analyse the data and help present the reports to these agencies. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Full Stack Developer. Ideally the candidate will be proficient in Java and/or Scala as well as having experience of a variety of other cloud technologies or techniques, including Spark, DataBricks, Azure Cloud, Snowflake and Power BI. Additionally experience with front end technologies such as Angular, relational databases, automated testing frameworks and build tools is beneficial. The candidate will be familiar with techniques and concepts related to building high quality software in an agile fashion, including automated testing, tooling and devops tools/concepts.
