Please note this is a part time, fixed term/secondment opportunity for up to 12 months. The pro rata salary for the working hours of 30 per week is from £29,271 to £39,423 per annum.

The Heart of Support: Family Centres
In Essex, our Family Centres play a vital role in supporting fieldwork teams. They're the frontline in delivering assessments and interventions, addressing a spectrum of social work issues, from sexual abuse and domestic abuse to trauma. When required, they conduct parenting assessments, including those involving parents with additional needs, as directed by the court or under Public Law Outline. Beyond assessments, Family Centres offer various interventions that ignite positive change within families, equip adults with effective parenting skills, and bolster children's resilience, allowing them to remain with their families in safe environments.
Your Role: Transforming Outcomes
As a social worker within one of our South Essex Family Centre Service, you'll take charge of a caseload that involves assessments and highly targeted interventions, as well as group work. Your mission is clear: achieving positive and improved outcomes for children. You're not just a worker; you're a guardian of the highest practice standards, working diligently in accordance with policies and procedures.
What You Bring: Your Experience
You hold a diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or an equivalent qualification.
Your registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker
Your capability to practice aligns seamlessly with current professional standards, such as the Professional Capability Framework (PCF) and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
You're a pro at case recording, ensuring that every detail is meticulously documented.
Your ability to apply social work knowledge with emotional intelligence, analytical skills, and unwavering confidence shines in challenging social and family situations.
You're tech-savvy, with a strong working knowledge of information technology and related systems, including Word and social work case recording systems.
Work evenings and weekends when the need arises.
With at least 2 years of post-qualifying experience, you bring a wealth of expertise to the table.
Communication is your superpower, both verbally and in writing. You excel at conveying complex ideas with clarity and empathy.

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.
