Job Title: Engineering and Maintenance Manager
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Circa £70,000 per annum + annual bonus scheme
About the Role
H9 Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering and Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance strategy and engineering functions at a modern Energy Recovery Facility (ERF). This key leadership role involves maximizing plant availability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring full regulatory compliance through effective planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all maintenance operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager and other stakeholders to drive operational excellence and maintain a safe, efficient, and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the facility, ensuring maintenance schedules are current and effectively executed.
2. Maximize plant productivity while minimizing unplanned outages and downtime.
3. Maintain compliance with statutory regulations, including Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR).
4. Implement and manage maintenance strategies using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
5. Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within the engineering and maintenance team.
6. Manage contractors and third-party service providers to meet performance and safety KPIs.
7. Contribute to budget planning and maintain cost control across maintenance activities.
8. Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, especially in a start-up or transitional environment.
What We're Looking For
* Extensive engineering experience in the process or power industry, ideally with hands-on knowledge of PSSR compliance.
* Experience implementing and managing corporate management systems.
* Proficiency in the use of Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
* Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience leading large or multidisciplinary teams.
* A proven track record of upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Commercial awareness with experience managing maintenance budgets and costs.
* Experience in contractor management and performance delivery.
* Full UK driving license.
